Presented in a custom frame. This portrait of an Apsaroke man from 1908 is plate 142 from portfolio 4 of Curtis' magnum opus work, "The North American Indian Project." A thirty year endeavor begun in 1900, the project documented over 80 Native American tribes living west of the Mississippi, spanning from Alaska to Mexico.
