Even if you don't go down that route, I like Merieke Ri Berit much better as Mind Control on your commander since your opponent can't just kill this and get their card back
It has that nice Secret Rendezvous rate of three cards for three mana (assuming you still have three opponents!), but instead of piling the shared value in one place, it gives one card to each other player
