You need to spend so many resources making the Equipment theme work that it can sometimes become difficult to gain card advantage after a board wipe

This makes sense, since enchantments are much more difficult to come by than artifacts (Food is a plentiful artifactbut not in blue, which can only make it with Turn into a Pumpkin)

The main reason it was banned wasnt because its overtly oppressive, but because its so good as the commander of just about any strategy that it actually stifles creativity and diversity, and diluted new deck ideas, and fielded out more synergistic commanders in their own decks
