Rancid are the Berkeley punk torchbearers who helped revive street punk in the 1990s, blending grit, melody, and working class pride. Formed by Tim Armstrong and Matt Freeman after the ashes of Operation Ivy, the classic lineup featured Armstrong, Freeman, Lars Frederiksen, and drummer Brett Reed. Tim Armstrong became known for his raw, raspy vocals and survival through
